Welcome to Camping Buddy. By creating an account or using this platform, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the site.

1. Overview

Camping Buddy is a social networking platform designed to help campers connect with other campers, share knowledge and find potential camping companions. Camping Buddy is not a dating service and romantic solicitation is not permitted.

These Terms apply to all users of the site. Camping Buddy is operated in British Columbia, Canada and governed by the laws of British Columbia.

2. Eligibility

To use Camping Buddy, you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older,

  • create an account with accurate information and

  • comply with all applicable laws in your region.

Users outside Canada access the platform at their own initiative and are responsible for following local laws where applicable.

3. Nature of the Platform

Camping Buddy provides a way for users to:

  • meet fellow campers

  • share information

  • plan trips

  • discuss campsites, gear, safety, tips and outdoor experiences

Camping Buddy does not:

  • vet, screen or perform background checks on any user

  • verify outdoor skills or safety experience

  • supervise in-person meetups

  • guarantee accurate or safe advice posted by users

All interactions - online or offline - are entirely at your own risk.

4. Not a Dating Site

Camping Buddy is not intended for:

  • dating

  • matchmaking

  • romantic solicitation

  • sexually-oriented messages or profiles

Users engaging in dating-related activity may have their accounts suspended or removed.

5. Assumption of Risk & Outdoor Safety Disclaimer

Outdoor activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • wildlife encounters

  • weather hazards

  • injuries

  • equipment failure

  • navigation errors

  • remote-area risks

By using this platform, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • you are responsible for your own safety

  • Camping Buddy is not liable for any injuries, losses, damages or incidents that occur while camping, hiking, traveling or meeting other users

  • any meetup or trip arrangement is done at your own discretion and risk

You are encouraged to follow all local regulations and outdoor safety guidelines.

6. Location Sharing

You may choose to share:

  • general location

  • campsite information

  • regions or areas you plan to visit

You are responsible for any information you choose to make public. Camping Buddy is not responsible for consequences arising from sharing your own location or travel plans.

Real-time GPS tracking is not required by the platform and when used is at your own risk.

7. User Conduct

Users must not:

  • harass, threaten, stalk or intimidate others

  • post inappropriate, dangerous or illegal content

  • spread misinformation or unsafe camping advice

  • impersonate other individuals

  • spam members with links, sales pitches or off-topic promotions

  • attempt to treat the network as a dating platform

  • collect data from other users without consent

Camping Buddy reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts at its discretion.

8. User-Generated Content

Users retain ownership of their posts, images and profile content.
By posting on Camping Buddy, you grant a non-exclusive license for the platform to display this content.

Camping Buddy may remove content that:

  • violates these Terms

  • poses safety risks

  • is abusive or offensive

  • infringes on intellectual property rights

9. Account Suspension & Termination

Camping Buddy may suspend or terminate accounts for:

  • safety concerns

  • harassment or misconduct

  • repeated rule violations

  • fraudulent activity

  • misuse of the platform (including dating-related behavior)

10. Merchandise & Commerce

If Camping Buddy offers merchandise in the future:

  • separate terms may apply

  • all sales, shipping and returns information will be posted at that time

11. Advertising & Third-Party Links

Camping Buddy displays advertisements as part of supporting the platform. These may include:

  • banners

  • contextual ads

  • affiliate links

  • sponsored placements

You acknowledge that:

  • third-party ads and links may direct you to websites not controlled by Camping Buddy

  • we do not endorse or guarantee third-party products or services

  • you access third-party sites at your own risk

Camping Buddy does not share personal information with advertisers.

12. Limitation of Liability

Camping Buddy, its administrators and contributors are not liable for:

  • injury or harm occurring during meetups or camping trips

  • inaccurate user information

  • actions taken by other members

  • data loss

  • site outages

  • user-generated content

You agree to use this platform at your own risk.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
Any disputes must be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
