About Camping Buddy
Camping Buddy is a private social network that helps adult campers connect with potential camping companions, share local knowledge and feel more confident exploring new places.
The idea began with our founder, Paul Smith, an experienced camper from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. While travelling and camping around Vancouver Island on his own, Paul met many other campers who enjoyed the outdoors but sometimes wished they had someone to camp with.
Some wanted companionship around the campsite. Others were visiting an unfamiliar area and hoped to meet someone who knew the local campgrounds, parks, roads and outdoor conditions. Paul realized that campers in other parts of Canada and around the world were likely looking for the same kind of connection.
Camping Buddy was created to bring those people together.
Our Purpose
Camping Buddy helps adult campers find like-minded people who share similar camping interests, experience levels and travel plans.
Members can use the platform to meet potential camping companions, exchange campground information, discuss outdoor skills and share stories from their camping experiences.
Our goal is to make it easier for campers to communicate, plan trips and learn from people who are familiar with the places they hope to visit.
Camping Buddy does not arrange, supervise or guarantee camping meetups. Members are responsible for deciding who they communicate with and whether they choose to meet another member in person.
Who Camping Buddy Is For
Camping Buddy is designed for adult campers who:
- enjoy camping but sometimes prefer company
- want to explore an unfamiliar area with someone who knows the region
- would like to meet campers with similar interests
- enjoy sharing campground knowledge and outdoor experience
- want to exchange camping skills, tips and stories
- has reserved two campsites, no longer needs one and would like another camper to use the available site while the reservation holder remains at the campground
- are new to camping and would like to learn from more experienced campers
- have camped for many years and would like to help others enjoy the outdoors
Whether you camp in a tent, camper van, truck camper, travel trailer or recreational vehicle, Camping Buddy provides a place to connect with others who enjoy spending time outdoors.
A Camping Community, Not a Dating Site
Camping Buddy is not a dating or matchmaking service.
It is a camping-focused social network for adults who want to meet potential camping companions, exchange information and become part of an outdoor community.
Romantic solicitation and dating-related activity are not permitted. The purpose of the platform is to help campers build respectful outdoor connections based on shared camping interests.
